Grading:
AB: Mostly sound knots, occasional small fi lled knots with natural knot plugs, small fi lled knotholes, no colour defects, occasional pith ray possible, no shakes, small resin pockets possible, slight compression wood and slight colour variations might occur, jointfree gluing.
B: Sound knots possible, occasional black knots, natural colour variations are possible, occasional resin pockets, knotholes are filled with natural knot plugs, knotholes and shakes professionally filled, compression wood, continuous pith ray possible, jointfree gluing.
Universal: AB/Standard quality. bigger knots and more rustic appearance due to wider width of toplayers.
BC+: Shakes and resin pockets possible, knots, pith ray, bark pockets and colour variations possible, knotholes are filled with natural knot plugs, knotholes and shakes professionally filled.
Backing Standard: closed jointing, professionally filled with natural knot plugs, no blue-stain.
Backing C+: no special quality specifi cations, fi lled surface.
